On Monday 14 September, people gathered in the garden of the Academy of Film and Multimedia Marubi for the opening of the 15th edition of the festival. Opening speeches by Kujtim Çashku, executive director, Robert Wilton, Chairman of IHRFFA’s board, and His Excellency Ambassador of Austria Mr. Christian Steiner, as main partner of this edition.
A special dedication was made to John Johnsen, former Utica College provost and co-founder of the festival, as he recently past away, with the Human Rights Tree planted in his name.
The ceremony was followed by the screening of the Austrian film CAVIAR in the garden of the Academy of Film and Multimedia Marubi.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the entrance to AFMM’s garden was authorized only for spectators with masks and was conditioned by temperature measurement at the entrance.
