From Monday 20 to Saturday 25 September 2021 takes place the Sixteenth Edition of the International Human Rights Film Festival in Albania IHRFFA (www.ihrffa.net) one of the most important socio-cultural events taking place in Albania.
This year, the central theme of the Festival is related to the Covid-19 pandemic phenomenon, with traumas and post-traumas, which are mainly caused to women and children. Also, starting from the context created recently with the arrival of a temporary shelter for Afghan refugees in Albania, films related to individuals or artists, who are under the threat of the current Taliban regime in Afghanistan, will be shown.
In this edition, 34 films have been selected to be shown to the public, out of 3500 applications received by the IHRFFA.
The opening of the Festival takes place on Monday, at 19.00 with the opening ceremony and screening of the first film with the presence of many directors and guests, starting the intensive 6-day pilgrimage to see films and productions of recent years and which are shown for the first time to the Albanian audience.
In addition to the Academy of Film and Multimedia Marubi, the films will also be screened at the garden near the Prime Minister’s Office.
Entrance is free and the films are subtitled in Albanian and in English.
