Love-22-Love is an ode to love, art, and darkness. Creating art is filmmaker Kooijmans’ reason for being, yet it also drives him to deep despair. The images are unbearably raw when Kooijmans films himself as he descends into a psychosis. But above all, the film is a love letter to his wife, who has been the light at the end of his tunnel for over 30 years.
Love-22-Love shows Kooijmans as naked and vulnerable as he can possibly be. He goes further than he ever dared before, in a deeply personal film that is a declaration of love to life itself.
